Well, lookee here!

It's only July 17 and the first San Marzano plum tomatoes are getting ripe! This is the first year I've tried growing these and they're doing great. Should be good for canning, so hope I'm up for it - it will be soon!

  1. Mine are still green green green - though some are a lighter green . . . Nothing here compares to the glory of your RED tomato! Well done!

  2. Hats off!! Mine are still in the blossom stage. Zucchini are coming along, though...and the peas have blossoms, too. Time to replant the radishes, though I think I'll put in kale instead.

Your garden looks lovely, btw....all that watering is paying off!!

  3. Just read down your reading list...Have to get that first one. Have you read Simon Winchester's THE MAN WHO LOVED CHINA? Utterly fabulous book about a fascinating Englishman and his love for China. Winchester also wrote THE PROFESSOR AND THE MADMAN (about creating the Oxford English Dictionary).
